The Homebase of Live Music in Wudaokou.

Live Music has always been a big part of Lush. From our Open Mic night to our Live Music Fridays to back in the day when we used to kick off impromptu shows at 3am in the morning. (Alcohol may have been a factor.)  But last year we’ve taken it to a new level. We’ve got a brand new stage, brand new lights and brand new gear. We’ve got Ana managing the schedule and we’ve opened up Saturdays in addition to our Fridays for live music. And now, Lush is proud to have now hosted some of Beijing’s biggest and best bands, including Tavey Lean and the Solid Gold Dream machine, Stevie Mac and the Mac Daddies, Violet and the Hunters and more. And we’re even prouder to have created an atmosphere that has encouraged the formation of many new up and coming outfits, such as The Beijing Bandits, Chris Hopkins and the One Night Stand band and more.

In Wudaokou, and moving across Beijing, our reputation as a true home for Live Music is growing fast.

9PM EVERY FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHT

Open Mic Night

A Beijing institution, the Legendary Lush Open Mic night is a great place to play, hone your skills, and meet other musos. Many a band was born at the Lush Open Mic. Open Mic is also where we scout our Friday and Saturday night performers, so if you’re interested in playing, come on Thursdays! And make sure you introduce yourself to hosts Thierry and Erin.

9PM EVERY THURSDAY NIGHT

Regular Performers

Tavey Lean & The Solid Gold Dream Machine

“Solid Gold” is the premier soul band of Beijing, boasting an impressive 9 members and an even more impressive repertoire of classic soul and RnB music. Riding on the power of Tavey’s “Al Greenesque” vocals, a 4-piece horn section, and a rock solid rhythm section, Solid Gold is a can’t miss event wherever they play!

Stevie Mac and the Mac Daddies

Dressed to kill and ready to thrill, Stevie Mac & The Mac Daddies have been blowing up venues all over the city with their Modern Jukebox style of pop, rock and soul standards.

Before stepping out, Stevie Mac was our original Karaoke host!

Bye Bye Kitty

With a set list right off the inside cover of your high school Trapper Keeper, and a dress code ripped straight from 21 Jump Street (no, not the fucking TV show) BBK is Beijing’s grungiest 90s punk rock grunge cover band.

Featuring dope tunage by Nirvana, Pearl Jam, RHCP, Blink 182, Green Day, Gin Blossoms, Blur and more – if you love the 90s, trust us, you’re going to have a sick time.

Bye Bye Kitty is frontman Rich, sideman Jeff, backman JP and not-a-man-at-all Tash.

Violet and the Hunters
